NURSE EDUCATORS SCHOLARSHIP NETWORK COORDINATING COMMITTEE (NESNCC)

 

TERMS OF REFERENCE

 

Purpose

The purpose of the Nurse Educators’ Scholarship Network Coordinating Committee (NESNCC) is to facilitate the development of the Nurse Educators’ Scholarship Network (NESN). The goal of NESN is to support the scholarly development of participating nurse educators and to enhance a growing community of scholars in British Columbia and the Northwest Territories.

 

Responsibilities
    • Facilitate on-site support for scholarship activities at each participating institution
    • Take advantage of opportunities to advocate for Scholarship Facilitation at institutions
    • Provide mentorship for NESN research teams
    • Support NESNCC members in the mentoring role
    • Link faculty at participating institutions
    • Co-ordinate workshops for research teams as necessary
    • Explore options for innovative technologies to enhance communication between faculty at participating institutions and faculty at member institutions
    • Plan and implement annual NESN Scholarship Colloquium
    • Advocate for sustainable funding for network coordination and network activities
    • Work towards acquiring  a Nursing Education Research Chair for BC and the NT
    • Engage in periodic evaluation of the network

    Membership
    •   One faculty member from each participating site
    • The members will select Co-Chairs annually for a term of two years to provide for continuity (one co-chair will change every year).

    Meetings

    Meetings will be monthly or as called by the co-chairs. Most meeting will be conducted by teleconference and one meeting per year will be in person.

     

    Review of the Terms of Reference

    The Terms of Reference for the NESN Coordinating Committee will be reviewed annually.
